You Have Found Your Community.
Homeschooling takes courage, commitment, and an enormous amount of energy. You have chosen to take ownership of your child's education because you believe they deserve something better than ordinary. That belief is exactly what brought iBis Learning to life.
iBis is a close-knit, dual language learning center in Houston's Spring Branch neighborhood, and we were built for families like yours. We are not a co-op. We are not a drop-in tutoring center. We are a school with certified teachers, a structured bilingual curriculum, and a research-based approach to developing the whole child. And we are ready to be your partner.
There is no minimum commitment required. Whether your child attends mornings only, afternoons only, Fridays only, or a combination of all three, iBis works around your homeschool plan — not the other way around. Together, we create something neither of us could build alone.
When your child joins iBis, they gain access to everything our full-enrollment students receive, in a schedule designed around your family's needs.

— GiGi & the iBis Team
The iBis hybrid model is built around one idea: flexibility without sacrificing quality.
Families choose the sessions that fit their schedule, and iBis provides the same certified instruction, bilingual curriculum, and focus and self-management skills development regardless of how many days per week your child attends.
Core Instruction
Your child attends iBis for foundational bilingual academic instruction along with focus and self-management skills development. This is the cornerstone of the iBis program and the most popular choice for homeschool families who want strong academic structure without a full school day.
Learning Beyond the Core
Your child joins iBis focused on inquiry-based learning, creative exploration, movement, and social-emotional growth. Ideal for homeschool families who handle core academics at home and want high-quality enrichment and peer community in the afternoons.
Exploration Fridays & STEM Lab
Built around hands-on science, creative projects, and discovery-based learning. A flexible, low-commitment entry point for families who are new to iBis or want a single-day enrichment option.
Full-Day Experience (AM + PM)
Your child attends both the morning Core Instruction block and the afternoon Learning Beyond the Core block, Monday through Thursday. Families seeking the most comprehensive iBis experience choose this option.
Mix and match: Families are welcome to combine any of the above. Contact us and we will help you build the schedule that fits your child and your homeschool plan.
Take-Home Learning Materials
One of the newest and most exciting things happening at iBis is our take-home learning materials. These materials were created specifically to bridge the gap between school-led instruction and home-based learning.
Our take-home materials help reinforce:
Dual Language Vocabulary & Literacy
Dual language vocabulary and literacy development in both English and Spanish.
Focus & Self-Management Skills
Focus and self-management skills such as planning, reflection, and goal-setting.
Key Concepts from Core Instruction
Key concepts introduced during Core Instruction, extended into your home curriculum.
Independent Habits & Self-Regulation
Independent habits and self-regulation strategies your child can practice at home.
This is what it looks like when school and home work as true partners.
They are simple, practical, and designed with real family life in mind — offering a bridge between school experiences and continued learning at home. Rather than navigating countless bilingual resources on your own, iBis provides curated, parent-friendly guides and activity ideas that reflect our approach and learning goals.
Every homeschool journey is different.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child have to attend every day?
No. iBis offers flexible part-time options specifically for homeschool families. Your child can attend mornings only, afternoons only, Fridays only, or any combination. We will work with you to build a plan that makes sense for your child and your schedule.
Is iBis accredited?
iBis Learning is led by a Texas Education Agency-certified Early Childhood Bilingual Teacher and operates under a structured, research-based curriculum framework. iBis is currently in the process of pursuing formal accreditation and TEA approval as an Education Savings Account (ESA) provider. Families interested in using ESA funds are encouraged to contact us for the most current status.
What are focus and self-management skills, and why should homeschool parents care?
Focus and self-management skills are the mental skills that allow children to plan, focus, remember instructions, manage their emotions, and stay on task. For homeschool families especially, these skills are foundational. A child with strong focus and self-management is a more independent learner who can follow through on assignments, manage transitions between subjects, and take increasing ownership of their own education. At iBis, we develop these skills intentionally every day.
How does the dual language model work for homeschool students?
Your child receives structured English and Spanish instruction during Core Instruction sessions at iBis. Our language rotation gives children deep, focused time in each language rather than brief daily switching, which research supports as the more effective approach for genuine biliteracy. Take-home materials reinforce both languages so your child continues building bilingual skills throughout the week.
What ages and grades does iBis serve?
iBis currently serves children ages 4 through 9, from Pre-K4 through 3rd grade. As current students advance, the program is extending through 5th grade. Homeschool families are welcome across all age bands.
Can homeschool parents stay involved in their child's learning at iBis?
Absolutely. Parent partnership is central to the iBis model. You will receive regular updates on your child's progress, access to take-home curriculum materials, and ongoing communication with our teacher. iBis works best when school and home are in close conversation, and we make that easy.
Where is iBis Learning located?
iBis Learning is located at 1957 Sherwood Forest Street, Houston, TX 77043, in the Spring Branch neighborhood. We are convenient for homeschool families throughout Memorial, the Energy Corridor, Cy-Fair, and the surrounding Houston area.
