Core Instruction: A Strong Academic Foundation, Every Morning.
Four focused hours. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A certified bilingual teacher, a maximum of 12 students, and a curriculum built around the skills your child will rely on for life.
Core Instruction is the academic heart of the iBis program and a natural next step for families whose children are finishing bilingual preschool and ready to continue their English-Spanish journey into elementary school. It is the starting point for most iBis families, whether your child attends as their primary school experience or as the structured foundation alongside your homeschool plan at home.
Four hours. Two languages. One strong foundation.
Core Instruction is a four-hour morning block offered Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Every session combines dual language English-Spanish academics, hands-on inquiry-based learning, and intentional focus and self-managment development in a small, mixed-age classroom community. Children are not just learning content — they are building the focus, planning, and self-regulation skills that make them stronger, more independent learners over time.
Dual Language English-Spanish
Structured bilingual academics in every session, building genuine biliteracy in both languages.
Focus & Self-Managment Skills
Intentional daily development of focus, planning, and self-regulation — skills that make your child a stronger independent learner.
Hands-On, Inquiry-Based Learning
Learning by doing — children explore, question, and discover rather than sit and receive.
Maximum 12 Students
A small, mixed-age classroom where every child is genuinely known, supported, and challenged.
TEA-Certified Bilingual Teacher
Instruction led by a Texas Education Agency-certified bilingual teacher every single morning.
Mon–Thu, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
A consistent four-hour morning block, Monday through Thursday, that your family can plan around.

"The starting point for most iBis families."
Whether your child attends as their primary school experience or alongside your homeschool plan at home, Core Instruction gives them the structured bilingual foundation they need to thrive.
— GiGi & the iBis Team
Built for children ages 4 to 9.
Core Instruction meets children where they are and grows with them — from the earliest foundations of bilingual literacy through independent, rigorous academic work.
Early Foundations
Children in this group are building the foundational skills for everything that follows: early literacy and numeracy in both languages, oral language development, and the executive function habits that help young children manage their attention and thrive. This age band includes children transitioning into iBis directly from bilingual preschool, continuing the dual language foundation they have already begun.
Growing Readers & Thinkers
Children in this group are moving from learning to read to reading to learn. Core Instruction for this age band introduces more rigorous bilingual literacy and math, deeper inquiry projects, and growing expectations for independent thinking, planning, and problem-solving.
Core Instruction is complete on its own. But it doesn't have to be.
Families who want to extend their child's time at iBis can build a fuller schedule around Core Instruction.
Learning Beyond the Core (PM)
Mon–Thu afternoons, 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Hands-on project-based enrichment that extends the morning's academics through art, science, movement, and creative exploration.
Exploration Fridays & STEM Lab
Fridays, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. A full day of hands-on inquiry — design, building, and problem-solving through STEM challenges and bilingual Story Lab sessions.
Full-Day Experience
Combine Core Instruction with Learning Beyond the Core for a complete, enriching school day, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
